Jatra Shuru (যাত্রা শুরু) or the beginning of the journey is the name of this album. This is the album with which Bangla Band Bhoomi made their debut. This album was a great hit and hugely popular. This album is still very popular and people identify Bhoomi with this album and some of their songs. The songs like Baranday Rodur, Kandey Sudhu mon Keno, nazau nazau, modhur modhur are all very popular and have wonderful lyrics. Their music has the feel of folk songs of Bengal and the Band carefully keeps an image of urban folk band. They call their music – music of earth or music of the soil (Bengali off course).
